Between 2005/07  I ran many wonderful workshops at the Barbican Centre with the Education Unit. Often linked to an event going on we made costumes for characters during the Children’s Film Festival and to wear during concerts. This was a golden time of opportunities and resources for workshop leaders.

In 2007 I was one of a number of artists paired with local schools, me with Bonner Primary in Bethnal Green, to create works in celebration of the Barbican’s 25th Birthday. Drawing on the history and archeology of the area we created the skeleton of a boat and decorated silk sails with stories. We used old techniques of dying and paper mâché alongside chemical dyes and carbon fibre rod.
