In 2005 English Heritage planned the first Chiswick House Festival. Literally across the road from this splendid Palladian folly, in the Borough of Hounslow, is a housing estate. This fabulous project enabled local children explore the house and its history and to create a story which they then performed in it. As one of the Project Facilitators, this was a wonderful opportunity to break through barriers of us and ‘them’.
