From 1997 to 2009 I had the pleasure of being a guest lecturer on the renowned Theatre Design Course. Originally a HND course, many of its graduates have become well known in the industry, including Robert Allsopp, the prop maker. From millinery projects to pattern cutting, the highlight project was a design-led devised extravaganza. A guest director worked with the students to create vignettes on a theme and then to contextualise their creations in performance. I worked with them to realise their 3D ideas. Occasionally I got roped in for a bit of choreography. Huge fun, especially working with director Peter Collins.
